Dr. Seymour Steinmetz graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed a pediatric internship and residency at the University of California, Los Angeles. He practiced pediatrics as a Captain in the United States Air Force for two years, then served as Chief Resident at Montefiore Hospital in New York. Following this, he completed a National Institutes of Health Fellowship in Child Psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He joined Fremont Pediatric Medical Group in 1974 and is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He enjoys aviation and says he wants to be a pilot "when he grows up".
